About Us

The inspiration for the Filling Station rests in Stirling, Scotland.  The owner and his wife were on their twenty-fifth anniversary when they stumbled upon a tiny gem on the corner of Dumbarton Road in Scotland called The Filling Station. The décor was true to the name.  They appreciated the idea of a hometown bar and grill where all are welcome to kick back, relax, and enjoy themselves.  After years of hard work, they thought that having a place of their own was well-needed and deserved.  So they began planning and designing this hometown bar and grill for their own hometown- Dayton, Ohio.  A year later, in June 2009, they opened The Filling Station Sports Bar and Grill.  It exhibits the décor of a filling station, like the one back in Scotland, with many added charms.
 
Having three kids of their own, the owners wanted to create a place the whole family could enjoy at the same time – a difficult task indeed!  So they integrated a full arcade with a ticket redemption booth, restaurant, complete bar, multiple flat screens, sports package, XM radio system and a juke box to keep everyone in the family busy.  Being a professional himself, the owner knew how difficult it is to find the perfect spot to hold business meetings, reunions or any type of a party, so he incorporated a state of the art private banquet room.  This includes a projector screen to watch DVDs or TV,
or to hook up a laptop with a  full speaker and microphone system.
 
The owner's wife is a vegetarian and OSU alum (GO BUCKS!), so our menu includes many vegetarian options as well as a wide variety of top quality meal options that are sure to please everyone! Our new Troy location is opening to provide families a place where all members of the family can gather together and enjoy what we have to offer. A local Troy resident approached the owners about opening this location for the community and surrounding areas to enjoy.
They worked together to provide a fun-filled experience for families and businesses for any occasion.
